The standard priced
Rose room is enchanting and has become the owners favorite. It
is decorated in the rich summery hue of roses with soft beige
and brass accents. The Rose room has been an early favorite with
visitors also and was renamed "The Bed of Roses" by one admirer,
for the highlight of the room is an antique brass bed piled high
with feather pillows and an inviting down duvet. With this as
a focal point and using a striking turn of the century dresser
set with a rounded "waterfall" front and oval mirrors we have
been able to create a pleasing and tranquil room. A delightful
chaise lounge is carefully positioned under one of the windows
and is the perfect place to enjoy a sunny breakfast tray, read
a book, or just sit, and enjoy the view through the trees.
Every small detail was considered when designing this room. Rounded
corners and an archway grace the new ensuite bath with the antique
claw footed bathtub/shower and Victorian style sink. The owners chanced
on a wonderful brass wall light dated 1905 which, after careful
restoration, now graces the bathroom.
Like all the rooms at Homeport the Rose Room is quite large and
will easily accommodate a stay of any length. Each room has individual
temperature controls, private line telephone and remote color
television with a VCR and a selection of movies available on site.
